Welcome to Seaham Harbour Marina Development web site

The official web site for the marina development

Only a few years ago the development of a marina at Seaham's old north dock may have been just a dream to the community and those who had an interest in boating activities and other water sports. The north dock has served its time as a working harbour, built in 1831 for the export of coal and a thriving harbour for fishing boats from the 1950s. Through the demise of the fishing industry in the 1990s, in which this was evident at the dock in 2004 when there were only 4 fishing boats remaining, it came the time to either let the old north dock slip into desolation or produce a plan that would save this historic and once very busy dock. That plan is now realised, recognising that the only way forward was to introduce modern facilities that would make our community proud and to attract boats which was always the main part of its life.

For those who are new to the development of the marina at Seaham then some basic information is contained within the following pages or you you can use the contact page to request further details.

The taskbar link 'CIC' explains who will manage the marina and has been added for those who require up to date information on decisions made through the ongoing development, those subjects such as berthing costs, units leasing, slipway fees, security etc.
